Introduction

DeFims is my answer to some of the biggest issues I have seen in both the film and cryptocurrency industries. Namely, the profit-first mindset that kills any creative endeavor. It’s no secret that most people in this space joined in with the hopes of making life-changing returns from investing in promising crypto projects. I’m not here to tell anyone that making money is bad. Money is a necessity for everyone on this planet. But I don’t agree with putting money first. I have been a part of the film industry for a little over seven years now, and my biggest issue with it is the same one I found when I joined the crypto space. Greed. I have seen people either do or put up with all kinds of mistreatment, dishonesty, and overall poor working conditions only because they think that’s the best way to make a living. This issue isn’t specific to a particular industry. I think it’s something that plagues any business environment. But in an industry as new as crypto, it is far more prevalent.

This is the reason DeFilms exists. Everywhere I looked, I witnessed the same problem. It took many years of struggling with profit-centric businesses for me to realize I would have to create an entirely different business structure to see real change. If you’re like me, you were drawn to the crypto industry not only for its promising financial possibilities, but for the creative possibilities it brings to the table. For the first time since in my life, I saw a way to make work primarily about fun, without negating the prospect of earning a decent living. The purpose of DeFilms is to show the world that we don’t have to lie, cheat, or treat anyone unfairly to thrive in this world. We’re building an entertainment empire that will allow our community to play games, watch movies, and compete in community events; all while earning different prizes. While the primary focus will be on creating original films and web series, there will be plenty of activities stemming from our content for people from all walks of life.

There will be a lot of growing pains in the coming months. This industry can be ruthless, and we’re taking on an endeavor that goes against the current nature of the cryptocurrency industry. But we have the skills, passion, resources, and determination to see this project through.
